We're Socks!
02:22
|
|||
You seem a little dizzy and you've come so far
So let us share a little bit of who we are
We're the people you belong with
Maybe sing a song with
Kicking every day and night
We're a guaranteed approach to keep your booties warm
A very subtle feature of your uniform
From every different angle
We think that you'll be thankful
When we cling onto your ankles tight
Oh we wait our turn
For our special day
But we never sag
And we always say
That we keep it light
Never orthodox
We add that special something
We're socks!
If you're worried 'cause you're walking 'round with naked toes
You know we got you covered and you should suppose
Despite our bad behavior
We're here to be your savior
And we're never gonna do you no harm
We know you'll wonder what somebody sees in us
Sometimes we get so nasty that it's treasonous
We know that we get dirty
Know that we get stanky
But that's all part of the charm
Oh we wait our turn
For our special day
But we never sag
And we always say
That we're strong like bull
And we're soft like fox
We add that special something
We're socks!

Somebody's Drawer
02:46
|
|||
SOMEBODY'S DRAWER
We know we're not the most important part of one's attire
You may not even notice if we vanish in the dryer
You came here from a retail store
But now you need to learn the score
How can you reach your zenith when you're stuck on someone's feet?
But life is sweet,
Because we are surrounded by our loved ones in somebody's drawer
We're partly polyester, but we're mostly made of cotton
We hope that you will love us and we'll never be forgotten
We're waiting for our day to come
But also as a rule of thumb
We don't presume to think we know what life is all about
One day we'll shout!
Because we are surrounded by our loved ones in somebody's drawer
Think of me
Like family
STRIPES: Except for me, I'm skeptical of every one I meet
It's no hoax [We're just]
honest folks
We're modest but I think we're pretty neat
Some people overlook us like we're mild diarrhea
They never check the tag that says we're made in South Korea
We know we need to prove our worth
But like a natural childbirth
It's painful and it's messy and you wish you took some drugs
But we've got hugs!
Because we are surrounded by our loved ones in somebody's drawer
Because we are surrounded by our loved ones in somebody's drawer

I Go With Everything
02:30
|
|||
I GO WITH EVERYTHING
I go with everything
I work for any circumstance
I'm nondescript
Hiding just below your pants
Give me the chance to join you
When you're going on a trip
To Paris or Beijing
I go with everything
I go with everything
I'm like two shakes of a tambourine
I keep my cool
And I blend in with the scene
Give me the chance to join you
On an outing with your friends
Whether they're peasant or king
I go with everything
Never ostentatious
Always pleasing to the eye
People always wondering how I...
...go with everything
My whole thing is I'm versatile
I don't stick out
I have an understated style
Give me the chance to join you
Any season, anywhere
Autumn or spring
Listening to polka or swing
Having a romance or fling
Eating drumstick or wing
But watch out I sting!
I go with everything
I go with everything
I go with everything

Darn You Or Damn You
02:30
|
|||
DARN YOU OR DAMN YOU
I wish, how I wish, for my dreams to come true
How many times have I been there for you?
How many times have I been there to comfort your mind?
But one little flaw and they toss you away
And then on, the forecast is cloudy and grey
I'm looking out for a heart that I don't have to find
They'll darn you
Or damn you
Harm you
Or sham you
I've felt the pain, I'm losing your trust
What good is the bread when you peel off the crust?
What good is the passion you feel if it's not from the heart?
I've got sweat on my brow and a knot in my chest
And the patchwork you've done here is shoddy at best
Tethered together with thread that is falling apart
They'll darn you
Or damn you
Harm you
Or sham you
They'll darn you
Or damn you
Love you
Then scam you
They'll use you to pieces
Then treat you like feces
Tell your nephews and nieces
The pain never ceases
They give you affection
And you feel like a prize
But it's not ancient Greece
And we're not golden fleeces
They'll darn you, or damn you
Or leave you to rot
Still I'd rather be a sock......
Than not

WHY DON'T I HAVE A FAVORITE PAIR OF SOCKS?
Sometimes I sit and think my thoughts
But ne'er do I connect the dots
Why don't I have a favorite pair of socks?
I wonder should it be my goal
To pick the pair that soothes my soul
Since I don't have a favorite pair of socks.
What does it mean
Who am I
To be a no-favorite-pair-of-socks guy?
I never had a favorite but maybe I will try
Do I base it on which doesn't drop
Or which one makes my tootsie pop?
How do I choose a favorite pair of socks?
KNEE: Choose one that's knee-high
STRIPES: Choose one with stripes
SOLID: Choose one that's single-colored
ARGYLE: Or argyle types
DOT: Choose the pair that's polka dotted and stuff that in your pipes!
I guess I'll leave it up to chance...
How will I know which pair to choose?
Which socks to slip inside my shoes?
I wish that I could solve this paradox
Why don't I have a favorite pair of socks?

Blueberries
04:17
|
|||
BLUEBERRIES
I can see it
I can see it now
The manifestation of all I hold dear
In one special place
It's all there before me
Like an Indian buffet
I can take what I want...
And then stuff my face
Everyone's loving
Everyone's smiling
Wearing their Sunday best
On a Monday afternoon
We've got the ocean within walking distance
And sandcastles of all different shapes
And we've got cheese imported from the Greek islands
And blueberries the size of grapes
And in my vision
I am not alone
Surrounded by sunshine and flowers and rainbows
And people I know
It's all there before me
Like a bakery display case
You bring the flavor
And I'll bring the dough
Everyone's loving
Everyone's smiling
Breaking bread, pouring wine
With kids at the table
Because we've got music on every street corner
And windows with velveteen drapes
And we've got cheese imported from the Greek islands
And blueberries the size of grapes
What is hardship?
I don't know it now
The gestures of kindness and beautiful laughter
Are all that remain
It's all there before me
Like an open wide prairie
My love can keep moving
Like a runaway train
Everyone's loving
Everyone's smiling
A golden hour paradise
And cupcakes all around
Because a lifetime can only be as perfect
As a mortal descended from apes
But we've got cheese imported from the Greek islands
And blueberries the size of grapes
